Central East – Markham – Tools, Towers, and Trades program

Registration opens July 6 at 10:00 AM Explore – Build – Play! Discover the tools of the trade at Markham Museum in this two-part program that blends history and creativity. Participants will partake in an interactive historical guided tour to learn how early artisans used resources and technology available to create homes, tools, toys and household items. Participants will further put their building skills to the test by visiting the Community Makers gallery and participating in a fun and cooperative team-building activity using KEVA planks. This event is open for registration to autistic children, autistic adults, their siblings and caregivers. Limit 5 tickets per family (2 adults, 3 children max). Note: • Please advise of accessibility requirements so that we can program for an inclusive and successful experience. This program is generously funded by our partners at Charitable Gaming Community Good through charitable gaming fundraising at Bingo World and Gaming Richmond Hill. It is intended to support autistic people and their families in York Region, and those that live outside of this area may have their registration cancelled. Cost: $3/person. No refunds. The parent/caregiver is required to remain on-site. Please note that we strive to offer tickets to as many families as possible, but tickets are limited. If, for any reason, you are registered and can no longer attend, please let us know so we can share those tickets with other families.
