Registration opens July 9, 2026 @12:00pm Join professional percussionist and educator Juan Carlos Medrano for a fun and interactive hand drum workshop where you'll get to listen, move, and make music together! Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basic sounds that can be produced on the djembe. They will also be able to connect with each other through sound, signals, and verbal cues. Rhythmic drumming can calm or energize the brain depending on the tempo. It helps stabilize mood, reduce anxiety, and create a sense of control—especially useful for people who feel easily overwhelmed. The most important aspect of the hand drumming workshop is to encourage participants to connect, focus, enhance pattern recognition and memory, and support emotional expression without pressure. Drumming workshops help organize the brain, release stress, and connect with others—without needing many words. This workshop is suitable for participants of all ages. All expressions are welcome! Price: $5 per child. Caregivers go free. Once registered and paid, refunds will not be issued.
