Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD)

Income-tested monthly cash benefit (

5–$665/month) to help Ontario parents with the extra costs of caring for a child with a severe disability.

ACSD provides a monthly payment to eligible parents/guardians to help with disability-related costs such as travel to doctors and hospitals, special equipment, drugs, dental and vision care, and respite. The amount is based on family size, income and the child's disability-related costs.

Eligibility

Child 17 or under, living at home, with a severe disability, and total household income of $76,920 or less (combined with family size and disability-related costs).

Contact your local MCCSS regional office to apply. A medical assessment of the child's disability and proof of household income are required.
