AS (Asperger syndrome)
An older diagnostic term for what would now be diagnosed as Autism Spectrum Disorder, often used for people with average or above-average intelligence and no significant language delay. No longer a separate diagnosis under DSM-5 or ICD-11. Many in the autistic community avoid the term given Hans Asperger's history; 'autistic' is increasingly preferred.
